Hi everyone! I know it’s been a while since I last updated my blog. I was preoccupied with so many things in my life specially last year. Okay, so enough of the explanation this year I promised to be more active in updating my blog so please expect for more updates this past few weeks. Today’s post is about our engagement shoot last June 2016 at Pan De Amerikana at 92 General Ordoñez Ave, Marikina City. We were photographed by no other than Mr. Robert Lester Aliscad. He is an award winning photographer. I was an instant fan when I saw his exhibit in the bridal fair that we attended at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City – grabehan lang sa ganda!
Engagement shoot nowadays is considered as part of the wedding planning but actually it is really not a requirement. This is not uso before it only became popular when some celebrities are doing this on their wedding.
When I did my research I found out that the rental cost of engagement locations is around Php5k and above plus some other location requires permits etc. I want to avoid the hassle and cost of course so I choosed Pan De Amerikana. A very frugal bride like me is definitely not willing to pay for thousands of pesos just for a day full off “smile! look at the camera!” “look to the left, look to the right”. Well on my opinion kasi all you need is a good photographer and I assure you no need to shell out your hard earned money on the engagement location. Keep it and you can use it in some other things na lang. Aurahan mo na lang ang pag pose sa camera bes wagi kana!
Another thing why I choosed Pan De Amerikana is that it is very near our place. Engagement shoot is free of charge but they will require you to eat there (of course!) and pay Php500 for the small dressing room they have.
When I told Jonathan about my plans for our engagement shoot he immediately agreed. Nothing too fancy we just want simple and straight forward photo shoot. Both of us kasi does not prefer the hardcore glamour that some engagement shoots do. We don’t have a stylist, we wore comfortable clothes which are readily available na in our closet. For me kasi engagement shoots naman is to simply a portrait session of you and your future spouse and at the same time a unique way to show the couples unique individuality. It should give the couple the freedom to express their love and explore their creative ideas.
