Pound by Todd English – Eastwood Branch

Hubby and I were in the mood for some gourmet burger and decided to give Pound by Todd English a try. We tried their branch located on the second floor of Eastwood Mall in Quezon City. The place is fancy, quiet and cozy, not the usual typical place to eat a burger.

Other than their burgers they also have some kinds of pasta, salads, and side dishes to complement their burgers.

We ordered Crispy Goat Cheese salad for our appetizer. This is a combination of mix fresh greens, baby heirloom tomato, and onions in raspberry vinaigrette. Don’t expect goat cheese on top of your salad. The goat cheese is inside the deep fried ravioli that at first sight looks like dumpling.

I ordered the Backyard Cheeseburger, single patty for me.

As for the taste, I like that is not that salty and greasy. It really is a gourmet burger, it is immensely different from the classic burger we usually order at fast food chains, all of the flavorful natural juices and moistness of the meat are still there. And the cheese sits perfectly well with the other toppings of the burger.

On the other hand, hubby ordered the T.E crispy chicken burger. I took several bites of it and it was awesome!

Large chicken burger patty on a nice brioche bun topped generously with  fresh pickled red cabbage slaw. It was juicy and crunchy in all the right places.  It has a hint of spice. the sauce wasn’t too sweet.

Of course, a burger meal would not be complete without its perfect complement which is the fries!

We ordered their truffled fries. Well seasoned crispy fries with truffle oil and truffle ketchup. Truffle fries were good but the serving was small for the price.

Final Verdict

Our overall experience was just good, we enjoyed the food, yes no doubt about it. Since it’s a “gourmet” burger it is a lot different from the usual classic burgers that fast food chains offer. If you want to eat a burger without feeling too guilty about it you may opt and try their burgers. Just make sure you have enough money in your wallet or you have your credit card ready.
