Maternity Shoot Is It Necessary? – My Maternity Photo Session At Great Image – Ayala Feliz

A lot of people loves taking photos of themselves, who does not? Social media is a great proof, it is always flooded with photos every second of every day. Photography is a sort of a remembrance to look back on years from now. It preserve the important events and people in our lives.

Maternity shoot is it necessary? Well for me, there are times in our lives we should document regardless of how we feel about our bodies.  Pregnancy is by far one of those precious times. It  is not something we do just for fun.  It is a way for us to celebrate the baby we’re about to meet, to celebrate it with our significant other and family, and to celebrate the strength of our bodies.  That baby bump is beautiful.  Pregnancy is a thing of beauty, awe and amazement for many people – and it will be for you too of course.

I wanted to remember how I looked pregnant and wanted to have a record of how my husband tenderly touched my stomach, it’s a lovely way to involve dads a bit more in the pregnancy journey.

Its important to do a bit of research to give you ideas or themes you’d like for your pregnancy photos – if you find things on the web or in magazines, save your favorite images to show your photographer. Pinterest is great source of awesome ideas!

Yes, you could just take images at home using your smart phone, or get them done by a friend or family member. But a professional photographer can create a work of art, taking into consideration the best angles, lighting, effects, focus and depth – they can totally transform what would otherwise be just a shot of you, into a story, a feeling, a work of art.

Photos also trigger memories, feelings, emotions… they help you remember those memories more vividly. When your children are older, they will be delighted to see the photos of their pregnant mommy, while they were growing inside of you.  You might be unsure about it now, but if you don’t have a photography session while you’re pregnant, you’ve lost the chance to create once in a lifetime memories – you can’t get them back.
